About Us—Terri and Tim

After 17 years of teaching, I decided I was ready for a new challenge.  Tim and I toyed with the idea of opening a store like this for about eight years.   The time finally seemed right, so we decided to take the plunge into the small business world!  

With the help of our wonderfully supportive family, we cleaned, scraped, and painted until we made this old store sparkle!  We filled it with all the things we love—teacher stuff, quality educational toys, books, and more.  We opened the doors on June 17, 2005 with nervous butterflies and all of our hopes and dreams.   It is scary venturing into the unknown, but I know we made the right decision.   We have been so excited about the positive feedback and support we have received. 

Tim is still a technology teacher at Wake Forest Elementary and comes in the evenings to help cover the “retail” part of the store while I do the tutoring. 

Our daughters, Elizabeth and Emily, are also helping out behind the counter whenever they aren’t tied up doing their own thing.

Our philosophy is pretty simple….we are here to serve the community’s educational needs.  We want our store to provide not only quality products to help kids and teachers, but also to assist parents with their questions and concerns about their child’s progress in school.
